Select key achievements:

  • Currently leading the reorganisation of the spectrum management policy to ensure better alignment with the rapid proliferation of wireless technologies.
  • Instrumental in the National Emergency Response Committee on Coronavirus where provision of effective Government communications and reporting advisories was necessary.
  • Structured and led the creation of the Office of the Director General, Digital Economy to provide strategic thinking, policy formulation and strategic vision to position Kenya for 4IR (currently in the final stages of Public Service Commission approvals)
  • Supported and led the initiative to amend the National ICT Policy Guidelines to spur and support the growth of Business Process Outsourcing companies in Kenya

Select key achievements:

  • Spearheaded completion and commission of the Nairobi-Naivasha section of Standard Gauge Railway (“SGR”) and the Naivasha Inland Container Depot
  • Led engagements with National Treasury and Exim Bank of China on amendments on the minimum SGR escrow account deposit, to create fiscal space
  • Led the acquisition of eleven Diesel Multiple Units from Spain for the revamping of the Nairobi Commuter Rail System
  • Provided leadership in the Development of the Dongo Kundu Free Port and Special Economic Strategy (funded by the Japan International Corporation Agency)
  • Provided strategic oversight of fast-tracking and completion of the Lamu Port

Leading the implementation of the Government of Kenya’s privatisation program and oversight of state investments
Select key achievements:

  • Lead the successful initial public offerings of Safaricom (the largest IPO in the history of the privatisation program), KenGen and Kenya Reinsurance Corporation
  • Lead the privatisation of Telkom (which, safe for the Safaricom IPO, raised the highest privatisation proceeds to date)
