Corporate Social Responsibility

CSR 2022

Corporate Social Responsibility - 14th April 2022

Corporate Social Responsibility is a broad concept that takes many forms depending on the company and industry. The Connected Summit organized by the ICT Authority has a custom of always supporting the local communities, Schools and the youth through a program funded by the CSR Sponsor.

In the year 2014 during the Connected Summit Kwale Boys High School, benefitted from the CSR program. The school received over 500 books for their library that improved the access to learning material and in turn an improvement in learning and overall performance of the school.

The Connected Summit 2017 included a Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) event—an initiative geared at addressing the challenge of access to reading and learning materials.

The 2017 event saw the ICT Authority and Huawei donate books and digital devices to Kwale Girls High School. The Kwale Girls High school is a school that historically serves the students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

During the 10th Edition Summit in the year 2018 the ICT Authority, Huawei Technologies, TotoSci and E-Mentoring Africa partnered to empower 400 vulnerable students of Bosco School in Karen through providing technology, technology skills, science education, soft skills, life skills and mentoring.

Huawei donated 60 tablets to the students while eMentoring Africa committed to provide mentoring, soft skills, life skills and entry-level technology skills. TotoSci provided a tailor-made curriculum based on experiential learning and a science and coding kit.

Join this year’s CSR activity by giving an Easter gift pack (foodstuff) to the community. For further discussion and inquiry, contact the organizing committee on e-mail: connected@ict.go.ke
