Mr. Jerome Okoth Ochieng is the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth affairs in charge of State Department of ICT and Innovation. He is the Principal Assistant to the Cabinet Secretary of Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs of Kenya.
He serves as a Director to the Board of Telkom Kenya Limited (TKL), Information Communications and Technology Authority (ICTA), Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), The East African Marine System Limited (TEAMS) and Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat.
Prior to joining the Ministry of ICT, Mr. Ochieng was the Director of the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) at the National Treasury, with over 17 years work experience rising within the ranks to the position of Asst. Director ICT in the Department of Government Information Technology Services (GITS). In addition, he served as ICT Manager at Public Procurement Oversight Authority (PPOA) for over 6 years where he gained useful knowledge in ICT sector.
Having participated in a number of CIO East Africa forums, Mr. Ochieng holds a Masters’ Degree in Information Engineering from the University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, and a registered fellow of the Computer Society of Kenya and a Licentiate Member of Institute of Management Information System (IMIS), UK.
Lastly Mr. Ochieng is a Father of adoring Son and a lovely Daughter.
